BLOOD AND PROTECTION
           
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye  are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy  you, when I smite the land of Egypt. (Exo 12:13)

            In the above said scripture (Exo 12:13) we read a wonderful and precious incident that happened in the house of Israelites who dwelt in the Land of Egypt as slaves. Since the heart of Pharaoh was hardened too much again and again against Israelites even by seeing unimaginable miracles and events of beyond in nature, Almighty Lord resorted to smite all the first born in the land of Egypt, from the first born of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the first born of the captive that was in the   dungeon.(Exo 12:29).  In this course of plague Lord wanted to save or protect or safeguard all the households of Israelites.  He called Prophet Moses and instructed him that the blood of the lamb should be sprinkled or applied upon every household, so as to be a mark of identification (Exo 12:22).  Why this mark of identification?  While Lord pass through to smite the Egyptians and when He see   the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, as a result there don’t be destruction or suffering in the household of Israelites (Exo 12:23). Halleluiah!
And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they. (Exo 12:28)

Exactly this is what happened on that fate full particular  night in the Land of Egypt.  At the midnight Lord smote the entire first born in the Land of Egypt, from the first born of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the first born of the captive that was in the dungeon and the entire first born of cattle.  Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians; and there was not a house where there was not one dead (Exo 12: 29, 30).  While this was the case in each and every household of Egyptians starting from palace to dungeons, the households of Israelites were safe and protected.  Halleluiah!  What was the secret?  The blood of the pass over lamb that was being   sprinkled   or applied upon the lintel and on the two side posts of each and every household of Israelites which served as a mark of identification which prompted the Almighty Lord to exempt or leave or safeguard or protect them from the course of destruction. Halleluiah!  Not only that, Almighty Lord commanded this Passover festival to the children of Israel to be observed regularly and stipulated as an ordinance to them and their sons forever. (Exo 12:24)

Dear beloved one, Almighty Lord who stipulated pass over as an ordinance, to each and every house hold of Israelites, came down to this world in flesh (Heb 10:5; 1Tim 3:16; Heb 2:4; Is 53:7; Acts 8:32) as a lamb (John 1:29 1Pet 1:19). Halleluiah!

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! (John 1:36)

This Lamb (Christ) without blemish and without spot was slain in the Cross of Calvary (Luke 23:33) 2011 years ago at a place called as Golgotha (Place of a skull) (Math 27:33, Mark 15:22, John 19:17) and His whole blood was being shed (John 19:34) for the entire human beings of this world including for the children of Israelites.  Do you know even now in Heaven He is being like a Lamb as it had been slain from the foundation of the world ? (Rev 5:6; 13:8)

You, children of Lord who has given your heart to Jesus (John 1:12, Gal 3:26) when you apply His Holy blood by faith you could see this same time of blessing in your life in this world as the children of Israelites experienced in the land of Egypt on that particular night.  To encourage your faith in Christ and to receive protective blessing through the blood of Christ let me share a beautiful testimony enumerated by Pastor Whyte, living in England during Second World War.

During Second World War, in England at London,  He with his entire family went through many dangerous air raids when buzz bombs were flying everywhere.  But they were able to lie down with their children and sleep through much of it.  Every night before they went to sleep they would ask Lord to cover them, their home and their children with the blood of Jesus.  The protection of the blood of Jesus was so real that it seemed like they were sleeping in a strong shelter.  One particular night, thirteen bombs landed within three quarters of a mile from their home.  Aside from some minor damage to the house, they were all kept safe. Halleluiah!  In fact they used to speak of the blood of Jesus Christ as the “Best air raid shelter in the world”. Halleluiah!

Dear brothers and sisters, if it is so in the case of Pastor Whyte’s life through the terrible and awesome bombardment during  Second World War, why can’t it be in your life.  Certainly you could experience the blessing that resides in the blood of Jesus “as a shelter” in your family, children’s life, business establishments, possessions etc. from the eyes of devil and evil, provided if you apply the blood of Jesus by faith as Pastor Whyte did. Halleluiah!
