LORD JESUS CHRIST FORM OF A SERVANT - WHY?
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Phil 2:6-8)
Welcome you dear one who are blessed by our Gracious Lord, who has chosen us in Christ before the foundation of this world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in Love. (Eph1:4). Halleluiah!
The above read scripture i.e., Phil 2:6-8 speaks about how and why Almighty Lord (Gen 17:1; Ex6:3; Rev 1:8, 4:8 etc) who dwells in the light which no man can approach (I Tim 6:16) took the form of a servant and came to this world. This is one of the marvelous mystery (I Tim 3:16) even since kept as secrete in heaven and revealed in due time unto us (Gal 4:4; Eph 1:9, 10) Halleluiah! Before we go into why Lord took the form of a servant let us meditate with the help of the Holy Spirit where our Lord dwells, how he dwells?
But our God is in the heaven (Ps 115:3)
He (Lord) that sitteth in the heavens. (Ps 2:4)
The Lord's throne is in heaven (Ps 11:4)
Then hear thou heaven thy dwelling place (II Chro 6:30, 33, 39; Ps 123:1)
What a wonderful scripture which expose the dwelling place our Lord! Even more wonder is, even in heaven Lord dwells in the most high place. Halleluiah!
………..I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up. (Is 6:1)
I (lord is exalted; for He dwelleth on High. (Is 33:5)
Is not God in the height of heaven? (Job 22:12)
Though Lord dwells in the most high and holy place of the heaven, Lord's holy verses further expose that He dwells in the midst of special angels called as cherubims (I Sam 4:4). Halleluiah!
O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest [between] the cherubims, thou art the God, [even] thou alone. (II Kings 19:15)
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest [between] the cherubims, shine forth.(Ps 80:1)
O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest [between] the cherubims, thou [art] the God, [even] thou alone. (Is 37:16)
Further Holy Bible reveals how the Lord who dwells in the midst of Cherubim, of the Most High of Heaven in Rev 4:4.
And round about the throne [were] four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
My beloved [is] white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
(Song of Solomon 5:10)
Why such Almighty Lord who inhabits in Heaven, dwells in the Most High that too in the midst of Cherubims having the appearance of Jasper and a Sardine stone, white and ruddy, the chiefs among ten thousand, should take the form of a servant? Why He should found in fashion as a man? Why should He become obedient unto death, even the death of the cross? (Phil 2:8) Why He hath no form nor comeliness ? Why there is no beauty that we should desire him? Why He was despised and rejected of man? (Is 53:2, 3) Why His visage was so marred more than any man and His form more than the sons of men? (Is 52:14)
Years ago a preacher narrated a story which I still remember. There was a king in a particular place. His son (prince) was very much interested in hunting. One day he gone for hunting and due to his enthusiasm he went deeper part of the thicker forest, which was inhabited by rude tribal people not having any civilization. As a result he fell in the hands of such and those people as a slave, and as days passed on, the prince more or less become one among them in all aspect. Slowly he forgets about his royal hood and lived a slavery life along with them. His father, the king was told about his son's pathetic nature. His heart was broken down for his son. Two options appeared before him. First one is to declare war upon the tribes. In this case, there is every possibility that his son might be killed. Second one is that he should take the form of the same rude tribes join with them, locate his son, and rescue him. The king selected the second option. He became just like another rude tribal person, by changing his physical contour and joined with the same group. With great difficulty he located his son whose life style was totally changed as that of a slave. Still with much more difficulty he revealed himself to his son, that he was his father, king and taught him where he should be? With much pain after many days his son (prince) came back to his realization and recognized his father. Once he attained that reality, his father rescued him and safely reached the place.
Exactly like this, brothers and sisters, Lord for as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He (Jesus) also Himself likewise took part of the same came down to this world in the form of a servant suffered like anything (Is 53:3; Luke 24:26, 46; Acts 1:3 etc.) gave His last drop of blood in the cross of Calvary through which He delivered, rescued, saved, redeemed, entire human kind from the slavery of sin, evil, devil and second death (hell, eternal judgment) ultimately we rejoined with the family of heaven. Halleluiah!
But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (I Peter 2:9, 10)
