CHRIST'S SERVANT
For he that is called in the Lord, [being] a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, [being] free, is Christ's servant. (ICor 7:22)
As free, and not using [your] liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. (I Pet 2:16)
Warm greetings are to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who shed even the last drops of His precious blood without blemish and without spot (I Pet 1:19)for us in the Cross of Calvary, through whom we have been blessed. Halleluiah!
Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ: (Eph 1:3)
Dear brothers and sisters let your heart not be troubled. Lord knows your heart and thoughts (John 2:24, 25; Luke 6:8; Pro 15:3) and I am sure you will be comforted, blessed and encouraged through this message section. Halleluiah!
I Cor 7:22 says, we are Jesus Christ's servants. According to Tamil Bible version it means slave (adimai). Any human being who is born of a woman and man, in this world should be a slave for one thing or other.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
(Rom 6:16)
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. (II Pet 2:19)
Yes dear one, we were (before come to the feet of Lord Jesus) once slave to the world, sin, traditions, ruler of this world, fashion of this world etc.
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. (Rom 6:17)
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. (Rom 6:19)
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. (Rom6:20)
How our Gracious Jesus delivered us from the slavery of the world, sin, evil etc? Or how we will become His (Jesus) slaves?
Years ago ,United States of America was famous for slavery. Human beings as slaves used to be auctioned in the markets and open place on parallel with present day cattle sandy. Rich people used to purchase other human beings as slaves and such sold slaves will be subjected to inhuman treatments. One day while Abraham Lincoln (in later days became one of the most eminent and prominent President of USA through whom Lord has put an end to this slavery) was traveling through New Orleans city he saw a heart breaking seen. A young girl was being kept to be auctioned publicly. A big crowd was waiting to take this girl in auction. Having moved by seeing the pathetic nature of this particular girl he paid 1,400 dollars as a price and took her in his house. Next day morning Abraham Lincoln came to this young girl and gave all the documents pertaining to her deliverance and asked her to go anywhere as you like. Now you are free. You are no more a slave. You can live a free life as you like. Next second young girl fell on the feet of Abraham Lincoln and said like this, "Sir, where shall I go! I am a slave to you and I would like to serve you all the days of my life".
Exactly like this, dear beloved one, Jesus also paid a price for each and every one of the human beings and purchased us in the cross of Calvary by paying a heavy price i.e. by shedding His precious Holy blood without blemish and without spot. Halleluiah!
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. (I Cor 6:20)
Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. (I Cor 7:23)
What is the price he paid for us? He shed even the last drop of His Holy Blood (John 19:34). Do you know what Jesus is telling to you now? My dear son/daughter, no more you are slave to sin. No more you are slave to the world. No more you are slave to the Devil. no more you are slave to the hell . No more you are slave to destruction. No more you are slave to eternal condemnation. I have paid the price for your deliverance. Now you are a free person. The moment when you\we realize this simple but eternal truth, what we will say out of tasting the love of Christ. Oh! Lord, where shall I go other than you? I give my life wholly in thine holy feet ,here after no more I am, but you are every thing to me. I am thine slave. Halleluiah!
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20)
May the Holy Spirit infuse the love of Jesus in your soul!
